After a very bad year, with divorce, nike crash and everything not moving as quick as i liked. I myself had to get things moving. bought my own wheel chair (NHS took 6 months to get me one that will go through doors). Bought my own car (As DLA only awarded me for 2 years, so a motability one , i could not get) May have landed a new job(as work still unsure what ill be doing) So dont rely on the goverment to help you (even though you pay ya taxs). they say they can help, but take so long that you will either lose the will to live, go mad, or do it you self. So i myself who work all my life would like to know were my taxes are going. But after all i have done, i feel so alone in my life as its me that has to take all the stress with no one to share it to. Its funny all i wanted in life was simple things, have a ok job, a woman that loved me and maybe kids, nice house. But it all seems to much to ask for these days, as it seems every one is out to hurt other people and make there life hell. I feel that sometimes i just want to disapear and not come back, as last year my whole life ended as i knew it, but there was one person that gave me hope and now that person has disapear (i Know not why). The only thing that keeps me going is the good friends that i have made on here, but that still does not stop the tears at night, im so alone. Mike

Mike dont get depressed, alway seems worst late at night. I've just spent he whole night in ER my wife got knocked down by a boy racer. Thank God she's home now but very upset and sore no breaks bust I don't know how she survived, he mounted the footpath at 60+ and she was thrown a long distance. Life is for enjoying moment by moment.

I'm glad u feel like the people on here r some use to u tho. chin up mike it will turn round eventually u'll just probably have to do it for yourself but if u know that at least u won't be dissapointed any more. pat i'm sorry to hear about your wife thank god she is ok. I was hit by a car but not at that speed and i ended up in hospital for months with broken legs arms and allsorts, so she has been a very lucky lady. please send her my best wishes and i hope she feels better soon xxx

Mike, good to hear that you're doing ok. Sometimes, young man, I don't think you realise what you have achieved over the last year, it might not seem alot but you have done fantastically well "coping" with everything. You have started a new life for yourself, you have made an effort to sort yourself out when others would've given up a long time ago. I understand what you mean about, it seems that people want to hurt each other, just rememebr that there are good and bad people in this world. A majority of the people who are socialise with and trust are a reflection of our own self-image i.e. if we lack self-esteem we will accept anyone in our lives who will give you a tiny bit of affection/attention and forgot about all of the other people around us who really care. I cannot emphasise this enough when I say "the abused, abuse", people become bitter through being abused in some way and everybody needs a chance at some time, it only takes once good person to change their life. We are all guilty of doing this at some time please don't become bitter. You have to trust your judgements, although hard sometimes we have to be brutally honest with ourselves before entering a relationship (whether a friendship or sexual relationship) and ask "Do I have any doubts?" and "Is this someone who I really need or want in my life?". The most useful quote that I have heard recently is "People with addictive personailties or people who lack self-esteem 'need' somebody new in their life when they least 'need' them". You seem to have done well for yourself so far, so keep doing this until you are feeling much more like the old you (pre your ex) and when you stop thinking about who else you want that is when you will be ready. Come on hun, chin up and look forward to the rest of your life xxxx

well done for up to now. I see a lot of positive things in your comments. you are not sitting back moaning about your problems you are doing something about them. thats the first year behind you the next will pass. dont fret about what you dont have enjoy the good thiongs more will come along. as bubbs says you will attract those like you so a positive attitude is all you need, even if you dont feel like it inside. chin up mate and the glass is half full.

Mike, this time last year things were a lot worse, at one point we didnt even know if you were going to survive, it was only your mum keeping us up to date, you've come this far, and you have made a huge amount of progress, like you said you have also made a lot of new friends, keep on doing what you are doing hun and things can only get better xxxx
