I can see it now, I'm gonna be banned for asking too many questions! lol Anyway, Situation: M8 of mine has GSX750. Went to start bike, was dead. Checked the battery, had no water. After replacing the battery, still dead. Then discovered that the wires in the fusebox are all melted. Fuses used were 20a and 30a instead of 10a and 15a. Recent discovery also points to the rectifier/regulator not being original. I know, it looks bad. Here's my take (with the info I have accumulated from my own problem): Regulator has given up and is allowing the battery to overcharge, thus emptying the battery's water. With the fuse being able to let through higher amps than its supposed to, it has caused the fusebox wires to melt due to the regulator letting excessive current through. Plausible theory? Haven't run any tests on the regulator so not sure if its faulty or not. Any other opinions are welcome.

sounds about right TC. there used to be a common fix for reg/rec units for suzuki's using cb250 superdream units (they were more robust than the old suzuki items.you had to figure out what wires went where etc as they werent a straight swap, might even have a diagram somewhere of how to do it).

TC, Heres the wiring diagram for the charging system: http://smokeriders.com/diagrams/index.php?show=Suzuki/Four-Strokes/GSX-R750/Electrical/Charging_System.gif&frames=none Heres the rest of the links for the rest of the electrical system: http://smokeriders.com/diagrams/index.php?list=Suzuki/Four-Strokes/GSX-R750/Electrical&frames=none This should help your M8 out.
