Apparently over half the population hate their bodies ........ it seems to be more women thing than man thing but even men have admitted to taking steroids to try to bulk up the bodies. most people said they would have plastic surgery to enhance their bodies. and it seems lots of people suffer with some sort of eating disorder too. now i can relate to the eatting thing cos i once didn't eat a meal for 3 months when i was modelling, i lived on a glass of milk, tablets and a piece of fruit a day. infact its down to Mark that i ever ate again, so its his fault if i have weight on me now! I'm not fat but i must admit i would like to be 2 sizes smaller, but as i get older the thought of not eatting to get there is too much like hard work. As some of u may know my mum recently had an upper and lower eye lift and i was wondering what u would have done if anything?
oh the story about this is on http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/6376367.stm

This doesn't suprise me roebs, about people not being happy with their bodies.
I don't really have many female friends, and when I went away with them recently I was amazed at how much they moaned about their bodies and were watching everything they ate! Now I am not small and will never be, I am careful with what I eat but I don't beat myself up about eating something that isn't "healthy" as long as it's in moderation.
I think that alot of this hype about body shapes and sizes comes from the media, however 50% will also come from people making comments about what you look like. Alot of comments are made innocnetly and others are not. So many people lack confidence in themselves that they think by making themself thinner will make them a better person, which is so untrue.
I can only imagine what it was like for you in modelling with so much pressure to look a certain way roebs. It must've been really hard.
Whatever happened to the likes of Sophie Dahl and Marilyn Monroe? They were true icons, but now everybody is focussing on size zero in the wrong way.
If cosmetic surgery was free, I would have it but I wouldn't waste my hard earned cash on trying to make myself something that I'm not. Once people start having cosmetic surgery it is a slippery slope to being even more unhappy with their bodies, they do not realise that it is themself that they are unhappy with and not their body.
I do not disagree with people having surgery done, everybody has their reasons for doing things. But I do disagree with making it publicly acceptable for children/teenagers to be brought up in the culture of "if you're not happy with your body, pay to change it".
We as adults should be seeting an example to love yourself and be happy, rather than be selfish and take what you can. There are so many people in the world who purposely try and shatter others confidence because of their own self-doubt, maybe it makes them to feel better about their sorry lives?
My own outlook is to be happy with myself and only be surrounded by those who wish to accept me for me. I have made my mistakes in the past, but that is all part of learning how to live and I'll be damned if any fucker will break me!
Remember that abused, abuse..... or maybe that's going slightly off subject lol
Sorry about that guys but it's something that I feel very strongly about, rant over!
...... and breathe....... exhale......... pmsl

u ok now bubbs hun lol and calm.......
i myself am very self consious of my body (i hate it) if i could afford lipo suction a tummy tuck id be first in the queue, ive tried all the diets goin, i dont eat crap we try to eat a healthy diet, ok i dont do a lot of exercise but running around after 2 kids does me in, ( i used to do the gym thing 3 nights a week and still lost nothing and got bored doin it)
im now starting to notice my 9 year old putting on weight and ive just put aload of her clothes on e bay, even though she eats healthy and not a lot of crisps and sweets
i spose its me cause i hate myself so much i dont want her to be like me.
im off on hols in 3 week and dreading the pool or beach as i think everyone is watching me cause im so huge
even so i could never stop eating on purpose, i feel sick if i dont eat when im hungry,
and i only eat when i am hungry not just cause its dinner time.
so in a nut shell i spose it is society thats made me feel like this cause i think everyone looks at u if ur bigger than a size 12 and looks down on you, which is why i hate shopping so much!!
oh and roeb if u go down 2 sizes we shall never see u again lol

I know what you mean about shopping duc, all the clothes that I like only go to a 14 so I would like to get down to that size again.
I use the gym regularly, not to lose weight but to stay healthy and for something to do.
They say that the average dress size in the Uk is 16, I can't quite believe this though?
Maybe the problem is that people do not see the "larger lady" modelling clothes, perfumes, etc so when they see somebody who isn't a size 10 they find it strange? I dunno I suppose that most people find it more desirable to be slim, but how many people do you know who are thin, have a great personality and are comfortable with themself? (except roeby lol)
It's a package that everybody aspires to be but very few maintain it, in one way or another.
Size is something that you're born with, our genetics make up how our bodies will develop. Some people gain/lose weight more easily than others and it's just the way that we are made. Nothing can change that.
Just because people are all different sizes, it doesn't mean that they are less desirable.
I work with four women who are so obsessed about losing weight, going to the gym, etc but all of them are sized 14 plus and beautiful, they hardly ever watch what they eat, go to the gym, etc. It may seem like a contradiction, but this is what our society has become. I society that preaches one thing but does another.
I suppose it's down to us to compliment our friends, partners and family on the way that they look and not ruin their confidence into thinking that they should do fad diets, starve themself, make them self sick or become a gym-aholic. Look at our parents and grandparents..... they are/were very image conscious but always beautiful to us, that is what we should aspire to.
Bloody hell..... I feel like I'm preaching to the world here!
OK...... breathe...........................huff..... puff........

People can be so unneccessarily cruel though, maybe they just don't realise that they are worthless c*nts themself lol
Maybe we should start a club duc.....
A bit of advice for everyone, if anyone ever puts you down just say "you're such a mug" and walk away..... it's much more offensive that than swearing and will make them think about why you said it to them and what they have said to you pmsl

i hate my body.... not cos im fat as such but cos i cant do the stuff i want to do cos it lets me down now..(knees and back problems).. so no more pies for me and lots less beer too. (cept for rally weekends)
one of the most famous sex symbols of all time was a size 16..... marylin monroe! sophie dahl was a big lass but has lost loads of weight (and there she was saying she didnt care what folk thought of her size soon changed her tune though).
anyhow for what its worth i like a lass to have some curves cant be doing with size zero (starving yerself to fit in a crappy designed by a poof, dress... wtf is that all about).

As straight talking as ever bear lol
I saw Sophie Dahl crossing the street in New York and she is so thin now... well compared to what she was like before. I expect the peer pressure from other models was too much for her.

Ive been skinny and ive been extra large, right now im in between, and neither fat nor thin is what makes a person happy, its whats inside that counts, and if people cant see beneath the skin then they are to shallow to be called a friend.

Its crazy ridiculous, some people become so obsessed with trying to be something their not, maybe just to fit in, or peer pressure as mentioned above who knows. personally right now im extremely happy with how i look...except my haair as i got no idea what todo with it!lol, but i can get that fixed. But i mean my body shape im really happy with now, and it t0ook me some hard work over the last year. but i done it because i wanted to get back into the fitness i had been before, when i enjoyed bein like that for no body other than myself. That is the key thing you do it for yourself, if your overweight so what, as l9ong as your happy, i have a good freind who is over 6ft a szie 10 and she is obsessed with losign weight, and she looks fantastic but deownt feel like she does i really dont understand her sometimes.
Same with my sis in law she thinks shes fta but shes tiny, i trained alot so i could do things for me, the reason i wanted to get into the shape i am now is so i could do alot more that i wanted to without hurting the following day and being unlikely to damage a muscle or strain anything. It s let me start doing things i wanted. and im happy really happy with it.
question is how has society got here to be like this? why?
