Just wondering what motivates you? What your faults are? What stage are you at within your life? Which famous/popular figure inspires you (dead or alive)? And what you do for work?
I know that this is a bit of an open question, but it will make you think.
When I say what motivates you, I mean what makes you get off your arse and do things at work and at home.
And when ask about the stage of your life, I don’t mean age, I mean mentally and physically what have you achieved to date, and what are your aspirations over the longer term (realistic) – you can use the link to help you understand this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maslow's_hierarchy_of_needs
Me, I’m motivated by my own success, what I believe is right from wrong and living a good life with like-minded true people. My main fault is impatience that can be interpreted as aggression, however I can appear to be lazy if I feel that somebody is forcing me into a situation. Ideally I’d like to make the world a better place, realistically I understand that I cannot do this alone so my aspiration is to become a better person through self realisation and helping others to achieve their personal goals and discover themselves. I am at a stage that I would like to change my whole lifestyle, but know that it will take me a couple of years to get everything right. I’m back at Safety on the triangle and looking forward to moving up it again lol
People like Richard Branson and Alan Sugar inspire me, but this does not mean that I would want to be them, they just fascinate me.
And I work as an Account Manager in engineering recruitment and I’m taking on more senior responsibilities – hence these question lol
Sorry it’s all got a bit deep pmsl But I’m interested to know what sort of people you all are….. not that I’m nosey lol

just my two penneth..... i dont care what someone posts (as long as its not abusive etc) i will either respond to it or i wont. I am not shy about entering a debate and will always "fight my corner" (as bubbles knows full well lol) i dont go out of my way to actually insult someone for their opinions, hey at the end of the day opinions are like ar*eholes....everyones got one.
As to this post i wasnt going to bother with it cos im not inspired by anyone, im not at any particular stage in my life, and nothing much motivates me (apart from the search for the perfect pint, the perfect nubile wench (who will be blind and/or have appalling taste in men, and hopefully be rich enough to keep me in the style to which i would like to become accustomed) and lastly the search for the perfect bike for me. everything else is a distraction and mostly a hassle. Life is for living not for pondering about, leave the philosphy to the tree huggers.
And to end a quote from one of the great working class heroes of the modern era Frank Gallager "Today Matthew im gonna be a PARRRRRRTTTYYYYYYYYYYYY".
oh and the actuall post itself....... not a bad thought just didnt really inspire me, but then there was beer to drink in the fridge.... priorities.....got to get em right folks lol.

bubbles good question but i doubt anyone would really like to be psychoanlysed on the forum!
regards your new job, good luck but Maslow is the basic theiory of needs and wants from life. Take your time, analyse observe before you suggest changes. Be careful in taking it Maslow too seriously there are a lot more more complex theories, have a look at Mc Gregor Theory X and Y for starters.
Scullly, I know you werent being insulting to anybody, its the Irish command of the English language that has confused!
Mark good call!

Oh dear, what have I done pmsl
Don't really know where to start with replies, but I will try and cover everything.
All forms of communication can be tricky to interpret, I think that on this occasion in lots of cases the readers perception of my comments has not been how it was intended to be read. Maybe those concerned should read the words and ask questions before attacking a statement?
I mentioned newer members - this wasn't aimed at you Scully tbh I don't even remember you replying to any of my threads previously. In fact this wasn't aimed at one particular member, please also note the word "newer" rather than "newbie".
The statements that Loads has extracted actually make sense if you put them in their original statement, you may not agree with them but in their true form you should understand my comments. And imo he probably wouldn’t have commented about his thoughts so instead jumped on a bandwagon once the wheels were in motion.
Regarding a comment that Scully made about me saying that sportbikes riders were great and custom riders bad, her interpretation was incorrect. I actually said that "I now ride with only good sportsbike riders" meaning that I have ridden with bad ones in the past, and "i rode with custom riders last year who were awful" that was not a sterotype, it is fact, they were terrible but that doesn't mean that all custom riders are bad.
My post was meant for people to understand themselves not so that I can psychoanlysed them. I am fully aware of other theories, this was the easiest example for me to use so that people understood where I was coming from.
My life is by no means perfect either, like everyone in the forum I have had my problems in the past and it would be nice to get some support/recognition from people for the effort that I have put in to turn things around rather than giving up/plodding on when many others would have.
The reason that I post the occasional thread about myself is that not many seem to post threads or replies about bikes anymore, I don’t see this as being up my own arse just making an effort for people to see progress. If people interpret that as me rubbing that in their face in it (which is the implied statement), that is not my problem but theirs.
The problem with forums is that many take comments very personally, sometimes you have to read between the lines to understand what something means, if you still don’t understand then it’s worth asking a question so that you do. Everybody could sit back and watch what others are typing and judge, but until you meet somebody you’ll never understand them. I’m sure that many will agree with this. Chatting online and meeting someone are two completely different things, I have got on well with people online who I couldn’t bear when meeting and vice versa, but I’m always polite regardless.
Right I’ve said enough already, hopefully we can move on from here.

There is another way to look at this..... threads that are interesting or contraversial are often the ones with the most replies. Cant beat a good argum.....errrr i mean debate.

Actually the first comment to this was made by DARCEY.
If ya gonna keep up, keep with the programme !
Or did you mean you commented on another's comment first, in which case your right.
Sheep do that too, and at least Scully had the decency to explain herself.
Still working on an answer bubs BTW, lifes too complicated to generalise.

Loads, replying to someone elses post saying "I agree" is not your bandwagon, if you felt that strongly about my threads previously you could have got those wheels'a'turning all by yourself..... so there lol
Oh dear, I feel a "yeah but, no but" or "am I bovvered" moment coming lol
