just had a leaflet through my door saying "vote for labour" in the local elections on 3rd May .......... now i won't be but there was something interesting on this leaflet. Apparently since the Lib Dems took over Chesterfield 4 years ago the car parking charges alone have gone up by wait for it ........... 878% !!!!!!!!!!! and its set to go up by more too and there r threats to charge blue badge holders as well pmsl i thought it was getting more expensive lol and apparently our council are forecasting to lose money between now and 2009 ......... maybe they shouldn't have put that brand new reception and walk way up to the housing office then eh? especially when there was nothing wrong with the old one. its a joke and all the local councils r as bad as one another ........ they should be run as a business, keeping costs done for the consumer, offering good services and all they have to do is manage there money better and not waste it on usless crap!!!!!!!!!

BEAR is a numpteeeeyyyyy!!
Ya'll make sure you make use of your votes today! Who's seen the Scottish Sun? HUGE thing saying dont vote SNP, as far as im concerned good! yes, the media have WAY too much influence, and especially the Sun, but this is one case where im happy with what theyre saying!
In Scotland today we (well not i but everyone else) has three different voting systems to do, one First Past the Post and one Party List (coming together under AMS) for our MSPs, and one Single Transferrable Vote for our councillor!
so yuck! its getting way too confuasing, however it does make everything much much more democratic! with less votes being lost etc
anyhoo... just a wee reminder to those of you who havent voted, if you dont vote then you cant complain!
and anyone whos in scotland: DONT VOTE SNP!!!! independance will sink us and as reluctant as i am to admit it, we would be lost without the rest of the UK.
*gets off soapbox*

Oooh dear, I appear to have offended someone who seems proud about voting for a bunch of racist thugs.
Beg your ever so sorry I'm sure.
Just a thought, you complain that all these people are telling you that voting for facists is wrong, does that make you a embattled and abused minority?
Oh the irony of it all.
In response to your question Bear, whilst carrying no brief for nationalists of any race, I believe that the leaders of neither Plaid Cymru nor the SNP have been recorded recently advocating the forced repatriation of fellow nationals based on their skin colour or their antecedents. I await correction.

Hmmm odd that no one has picked up on that information reverend.... just seems odd to me that the BNP gets lots of negative press from the TV media whilst the other nationalist parties seem to be given a pat on the back as far as reporting goes... wouldnt vote for em meself as iv said i dont trust right wing politics.

It depends on what you call priveledged...I would nt say Tony and Cheri were underpriveledged . , I tend to go for the individual . I can relate to certain values It would be nice to have people like Dennis Healey and Michael Heseltine back . Just someone who s values I respect.

Don't trust extremists of any colour or political affiliation Bear, they all seem to forget that people are human and not units that can be put into little boxes.

fair comment reverend.... not that i would put my trust in any extremist belief you understand, my curiosity about the bnp was just about why they got bad press for being a nationalist party when others dont seem to. i realise the bnp has a history of very extreme views but had noticed they have been playing down their history of late distancing themselves from their past. Leopard .....spots.... springs to mind.
Darcey the bid contents are on their way, Lord Bear of Numptyville has a certain ring to it lol.
Froog i agree with you. have voted labour all my life but am less then impressed with Blair, i'll have to wait and see how and what Brown gets up to over the next couple of years to see if i will vote for em again tho.
Loz thats lord bear of numptyville to you, cheeky bint lol.

Well I hope you all see that the elections here are a total C**k-up . The new machines dont work. 100,000 votes declared invalid. another 100,000 postal votes"lost". less than 50% turnout.
so what is democracy exactly?
and Loz once you get to visit some other small countries who are independant and see what a good job they are doing with their economy you might see past westminster propoganda and see independance in a different light.
Why do you think the English politicians are so against Scottish independance? Because they need us more than we need them.
