Why Men Are Happier Than Women
1. We keep our last name.
2. The garage is all ours.
3. Wedding plans take care of themselves.
4. Chocolate is just another snack.
5. We can be president.
6. We can wear a white T-shirt to a water park.
7. Car mechanics tell us the truth.
8. The world is our urinal.
9. We never have to drive to another gas station because this one's just too icky.
10. Same work, more pay.
11. Wrinkles add character.
12. Wedding dress - $5000; tux rental - $100.
13. People never stare at our chest when we're talking to them.
14. The occasional well-rendered belch is practically expected.
15. New shoes don't cut, blister, or mangle our feet.
16. One mood, ALL the time.
17. Phone conversations are over in 30 seconds flat.
18. We know stuff about tanks.
19. A five-day vacation requires only one suitcase.
20. We can open all our own jars.
21. We get extra credit for the slightest act of thoughtfulness.
22. If someone forgets to invite us, he or she can still be our friend.
23. Our underwear is $8.95 for a three-pack.
24. Everything on our face stays its original color.
25. Three pairs of shoes are more than enough.
26. We don't have to stop and think of which way to turn a nut on a bolt.
27. We almost never have strap problems in public.
28. We are unable to see wrinkles in our clothes.
29. The same hair style lasts for years, maybe decades.
30. We don't have to shave below our neck.
31. Our belly usually hides our big hips.
32. One wallet and one pair of shoes, one color, all seasons.
33. We can "do" our nails with a pocket-knife.
34. We have freedom of choice concerning growing a mustache.
35. We can do Christmas shopping for 25 relatives, on December 24, in 45 minutes.

last time i was at coniston was when i was on a diving course. one day whilst there a rucksack was discovered by a dive school using the same site, it contained a womans body and had been there for over 20 years! they caught the bloke and i believe he was found guilty of her murder on the evidence of a hank of rope that was in his garage (it was the sam rope used to truss up her body.)
there was another one found in wastwater a few years before this one it was rolled up in a carpet and was identified by the engraving on the wedding ring he got sent down for life too..... he must be kicking himself as had he dumped the body a few meters further out it would never have been found. wastwater has various shelves of rock all the way down a few meters from where the corpse was found was a shere drop down to a depth that scuba divers could not get too.
all in all its safer not to murder yer other half. better to just up and leave never to be seen again.

ermm not sure about that ox.... there is a YMCA place at the end of the eskdale valley and you can walk to wastwater from there (not that i would undertake such a folly when there are perfectly good biking roads to be ridden on). the end of wastwater is wasdale head where there is the wasdale head inn (a micro brewery run by a bloke called giles produces some damn fine ale too).a bit of a bistro kind of pub with expensive meals and not a lot else apart from climbing memorabilia , its very popular with the crag rat set.
the wasdale valley is a very lonely place and the road along the lake is very narrow (to avoid encouraging visitors i think). nice place to visit and have a look but as previously stated there are a lot of deaths associated with the place (and probably a few corpses at depths where they wil not be discovered by passing divers).
i should work for the cumbrian tourist board me! cept i dont much like tourists..... still i could send em to places i dont frequent then at least i could get a pint without having to wait in a queue .
