Well its not just happening in Britain. Its happenning in America and here in South Africa.
It seems like the aussies are the only one with the balls to say "piss off, we don't want you here if you can't follow our rules"

Back to the original point. the police force needs to be urgently reformed. it should be an entirely secular organisation. if yer a copper and you get told you will be on duty at an embassy then thats where you go. you do your job and do it to your full abilities within the law.
Also the police force must put its own house in order over race issues as well (there is a black police officers union for instance. if the union was white only there would be outrage.) no wonder there are accusations of institutional racism within the force as a whole. The police should be police irrespective of race or religion. The colour of a persons skin has no relevance to the job they do and niether should the god they pray too.
there was a case a while ago that some muslim officers refused to wear the cap badge of their particular force as it had on it christian symbology within the design (ie a cross) the force in question re- designed the badge (sorted). i did note however that no muslims refuse to handle UK currency (this also has christian symbology on it as it represents the head of state ie the queen who is the head of the church of england.)
The copper in question didnt want to guard the Isreal embassy during the early part of the recent invaision of lebanon (to fight an illeagal terrorist army that lebanons own military wont deal with).as he has relatives in lebanon and a lebanese wife. he told his superior that the job made him feel uncomfertable!
everyone has condemed the Met over there apparent bending over backwards to accomodate this officer (apart from the Muslim council of britain who cant see what the fuss is about!).
the oficer should have been suspended without pay as he refused to protect people and property based on race and religion.
As for jack straw about bloody time someone said it like it is. how ridiculous is it that a woman can have a passport with a photograph that dosnt actually show her face thus making identification impossible.
when talking to someone surely it is only polite that the veil is removed (if they want to wear it the rest of the time then fine thats up to them ) and obviously the veil should be removed for ID purposes.
On to the military....... they too should be entirely secular as far as duty is concerned at least. If a soldier refuses to go to a posting he is prosecuted for being AWOL or similar. If you join the military you have to understand that your first duty is to the country in whos military you serve, family comes second and then your religion.
i did see a TV article about a young muslim man in the RAF who was giving speeches in schools ( as part of the career service) he was getting nowhere with the muslim youths as they all would not go to war agaisnt a muslim country, they were shocked that the man before them saw no problem with doing his duty ( the man said " this country has educated me an kept me healthy , its military gave me a job and a trade. I am proud to be wearing this uniform and would not hesitate in defending MY country") good on him.

During the first Legitamate Gulf War the British forces were not allowed to put up Xmas trees as it was a muslim country thats fair enough even tho we were fighting to free a Muslim Country. However in this country there seems to be a problem every time its suggested that people become british. Its a sham that the vast majority of people ae okm but as usuaul its spoilt by a few fanatics. I have no problem with the muslim relegion hey each to his her own I do have a problem with the constant comments that we are insulting theire religion whenever anyone makes a comment or critisism. If someone says christianity sucks hey thats your opinion i dont call for a Holy War against that person or counrty ffs. I am pretty tolerant but amd getting so annoyed about the why u picking on us muslims mentality. FFS when I lived in London at the height of the IRA bombing campaign we said its the IRA who were doing it fact>>> No one was accusing every irish man or woman of being a member of the IRA as today no one is accusing every muslim of being a terrorist. But its a fecking fact that the terrorism is being done bye muslim extremists doesnt make every muslim bad but ffs own up and accept the fact. Before long this country will either be overtrown from within with ethnic groups or revolt and vote in extremesist of its own such as the NF or BNP sorry to rant on but Ox as usual started a debate which gives food for thought the old git :-)

It would be a bad day for all of us if the BNP (or similar) ever gained power!

quite possibly Bear but it would however, give the other political parties an inclination of what the majority of British people want ie an end to our PC brigade and our country back! there are those of us that believe there is a skills shortage in this country so invitre all and sundry to live here and fill that gap....utter claptrap! if we closed the doors and started to extradite/deport these people the native indigeonous people of this land would have more resources to train for jobs, the government wouldnt have the NHS in such a state due to every foriegn fecker coming here for a hand-out of free treatment and benfits......this subject always gets my bloody goat up if only more of us fewlt the same way and did something about it
i by the way voted for the BNP in the last election and will more than likely carry on doing so until something is done or somebody takes notice of what i want.
rant by no means over

The problem with the BNP and their ilk is if they ever gained power and did what they stated they were going to do how long would it be before they got bored and started looking for other targets?. hmmmmm now who else looks different and kicks up a fuss? oh yes them scruffy buggers on motorbikes!
Whoever you vote for Government wins.
As to freedom of speech dont make me laugh there is no such thing and never was.
the current influx of folk from europe to fill skills gaps is a joke. The only folk who are all for it are employers of medium to large companies as they dont have to pay the high wages that we demand and as such the industry wage bill will fall to minimum wage level (not what this government had in mind for the minumum wage by the way , it was drafted so that unskilled workers in very low paid jobs would get a decent wage, employers however depsite protesting that the minum wage would cost jobs were rubbing their collective hands with glee as it meant that they could pay a pittance for ANY job.) Had the trades union congress had their way the minumum wage at the time of introduction would have been five pounds (with inflation now the minumum would be around 8-9 pounds) the unions didnt get their way sadly and now we are stuck with a pitiful amount of cash as a minimum, dosnt matter if the job is skilled or not.

oh and on religious freedoms our own loz has been told she may not wear her cross with her school uniform as it is against the dress code! however there is a muslim girl that is allowed to wear a habiib (headscarf).
Loz has been suitibally primed by folk on here to fight her corner and is doing so, last i heard she has found documentery evidence that supports her case (ie the school is not allowed to prevent the wearing of religious affiliation) and she is writting letters to all and sundry on the matter eg. the school , the local press , MP MEP national press ect. I wish her well with her protest, after all if its ok for one religion to wear stuff then its OK for all.
