Hi guys. Just got back from la belle France. J-P was really romantic- looks like he's sorted it all out. He has/had a really high pressure job in Paris- something to do with security, but he couldn't say too much. He's decided to quit, and over a glass or three of wine, we decided to get together and try to open a biker B & B place in the south- he says Carcasson is nice. His ma says she'll help out cash wise to start us up once we get hitched. She's loaded. That's the only prob though- she's a real Parisian lady, really refined, and she doesn't like my ma- she's a bit too Brummie it seems. So she doesn't want ma to move across and help. Ma would like to. But then if we go along with J-P's ma, I can get it together with him and the kids. Help?

Pugs ffs........ one problem has sorted itself, you ma has shown what a total ***FILTERED WORD*** head she is by her atitude so leaving you clear to sod off to Frog-land with 'whats-his-face'. His mother is stumping up the cash for the house/B&B or whatever so no worries there so all you gotta do is move there, keep a close watch on the bugger to ensure he isnt going off again with one of his fancy French birds and above all else make sure your stashing a nice little bit of cash away in a personal bank account that he has no knowledge of just in case he does do another runner.
Did you say you and him were getting married by the way? my advise would be to do so then you got the s.o.b if he does bugger off.
Best of luck kid with whatever you do decide to do but dont leave this site, you never know when you may need a bit of friendly advice. ;-)

I had kinda thought about replying to this thread but then thought better of it ...
However ...
A question for 'pugs' ...
No offence meant but i just wondered this ...
It strikes me that maybe you are hoping for someone to back you up on the decision youve probably already made ... lets face it most people tend to do what theve got in there mind ... you know how it goes, despite advice you do the opposite kinda thing! ... so thats what im perhaps asking now as youve got a bit flustered ... was the advice not in keeping with what you'd already, in your heart of hearts decided on? No worries but as already noted ... dont bugger off ... stay in touch with the site ... It works in weird and wonderfull ways at times and often helps even though you might not think so at the time ...
Anyway i'll stop babbling and wish you good luck ... tc

You got me Martin- I think deep down I want to go- maybe that's why I left the letter lying around- maybe I was hoping ma would read it. I think my mind was made up all along- it's nice as you say to have people say do it. Thanks Sprag too. I'll try and keep in touch, though I'm not sure as yet when we'll be going. Soon I hope. Not that it seems to matter any more- most people on here or round about home- seem to think I'm a fool or a bad daughter. Cold shoulder? Tell me about it. Apologies for sounding sorry for myself. Anyway, if folks don't like the way I am they know where they can go. I have a right to look out for myself. I've started making arrangements this side, and J-P's ma is doing all she can over there. Looks like we're going sooner rather than later. Just wish it could have been a bit of a nicer farewell.

dont let em get to you kid...... the world is full of folks think they know best and are ever ready to tell you how to live your life. You do what you think is right for YOU!! sod other people..... ok you may get it wrong now and then but at least you tried and did your best and with luck you learn from the mistakes.... far better that way than following the rest of the sheep.

Hiya pugs, don't know you from Adam, but if I were you I wouldn't go.
As Bear said, you only have one mother, and your child only has one grandmother that he/ she knows and loves properly. If I was your mum, I would have flipped if I had read the letter too.
I think you are making a big mistake, and one that you are going to have to live with.
What if it all goes tits up? Will you come crawling back to your mum? Will she have you?
If you are going to go, then you have to take your mum with you.
Just my opinion, but I think a helluva lot of my mum, no matter what we have been through

Thanks Cath, but I'm going anyway. I'm beginning to wish I'd never logged on and said anything. When I think back to some of the stories I was reading not too long back when I was saving up to buy my dream bike- stories about wives/partners who'd run out, no money, no bike etc etc- and all folks got was sympathy. Suddenly some of those folks are criticising me for putting myself first for a change. Well sod it- I'm first and I'm going. If folks don't like my attitude they can wipe my account from this site. Once I've gone they won't hear from me again anyway.

you havent been here long enough to know about other peoples problems and what other people said to them........for someone that joined the site saying you was new too this and shy you have done alot other than that..........i wish you the best of luck if you do go and i wish you the best of luck if you dont.........its got nothing to do with sympathy hun its to do with whats right or wrong........if someones partner cheats as did mine its up to them to see if its possable to work on it......but giving up a life and family for a word on the phone is something else....i for one respect you for wanting your kids to know there father i didnt know mine,and in some silly way i wish i did but it was his loss not mine........but remember you are doing this for what you see as the right reason,but sometimes love is blind and you dont see what can happen at the last moment....i know this probably doesnt mean anything to you after all that has been said but.........and i mean but........sit back have a coffee and a fag ignore everything in the world and ask your'self one thing.........if you knew someone thinking of doin this maybe one of your friends or someone you know..........what would you think......what would you say to them?........how would you try and advise them without hurting them or upseting them.........what would be your veiw on this sort of matter......
