can anybody help me with this math problem......
x= 3+ln[y/1-y]........now im trying to make y the subject.
so far ive gotto e^x-3= y/1-y
the bit im struggling with is how to get y the subject or even y^2, so that i can complete the equation....any help here would be greatly appreciated.
Ta.

Surely if you are taking the (1-y/y) over to the left side, then it would remain 3+ln on the right, as that has not moved, so no need to change to 3-ln? Also, you cannot cancel the ys once you have switched them to the left, as the one on the top is a negative y, not a positive y...ie: (1-y/y), or am i talking through my arse!!!! lol

still confused as it is still left in the logarithmic form, with that way it dont make sense, it need to be converted into the index fomr first surely vfor? or am i barking up the wrong tree? in this equation ln is the natural log of [ydivide by 1-y].

the calc I've used takes the IN as the inverse, if you put that into yer calculator you should be able to sort it, if its not the inverse then its done as a sim equation " i think"
