Men bailed after gang kills woman Kam Fum Chung was killed Ms Chung was stamped and kicked to death in her own home Three men and a youth have been bailed by police after armed raids during which a woman was kicked to death and a child was held at knifepoint. Kam Fum Chung, 65, was killed at her west London home early on 6 November. Later the gang raided a nearby house and threatened a man's daughter with a knife. They fled when the man grabbed their gun and fought back. Police said the men, two aged 21, one 23 and the other 17, had been released on bail until February 2007. Police believe the robbers may have targeted Ms Chung, who owned a Chinese restaurant, thinking she had the day's takings with her. Traumatised children Detectives have established she did not have the money with her when she returned home to Meadowview, Cowley, just before the attack. A post-mortem examination revealed mother-of-two Ms Chung, who lived alone, died of multiple stamps and kicks to the face and chest. The gang drove off in her Volkswagen car and forced their way into a house in Vine Lane, Hillingdon, where a man and his two children were asleep. Wearing balaclavas, one of them brandished a fake gun while another fetched the girl from her room and held a knife to her throat. But they were forced to escape when the girl's 49-year-old father, grabbed the gun and used it to hit all three of them. He was stabbed in the knee, but his children were not injured. Time we thought about gun laws or bringing back hanging! Debate and think carefully.

What's there to think about? A 65 year old women stamped to death in front of her children, by three assholes. Seems they should be stamped "almost to death" so they would know how she felt, then fixed up and stomped to death!!!

Bail seems to be a joke. one of the asians recently jailed in scotland for abducting stabbing then burning to death a 15 year old boy "because he was white" was out of jail on release. the whole system needs overhauled and the do-gooders told to shut up. bad b'tards are bad b'tards and should be treated as such.

everyone has the right to protect themselves and their families and property from violent criminals.Under UK law it is permissable to use deadly force under certain circumstances ie when you think your life or the life of others in in deadly peril. your not allowed to kill a crook if he is leaving your property though and indeed your not allowed to pursue them outside to do the deed. So you can beat em to death with a bat in your home or stab em etc as long as they are in your home. In the instance of the original post the bloke wouldnt face trial for any charge had he shot and killed the assailants who had attacked his mother and family as it was obvious there was the intention of them doing great physical harm. Not too sure bringing back gun laws would make anyone safer to be honest as then every half assed burgler would carry a gun to protect himself and then you have the situation of a crook willing to shoot others. And also the risk of having a gun on your property, for instance waht if the crook is unarmed but manages to get your gun off you? most folk would probably freeze up when faced with the choice of wether to shoot or not no one really knows wether they could pull the trigger. The death penalty will NEVER be brought back (unless the UK leaves the EU as the UK signed a claus in european law forbidding the death penalty). The threat of death never has been a good deterrant to criminals. Its over too quickly anyway, better to hand down proper sentances and withdraw the right to parole. life should mean life not seven years as is the norm now it seems. Another reason for not bringing back the death penalty is of course that the police are not trustworthy i have lost count of how many cases it has been shown that plod fabricated evidence, better that the guilty go free rather than one innocent be hanged! and of course lets face it if your facing the death penalty anyway there is nothing stopping a crook from then killing more folk lets face it you can only execute them once!. better to know they are gonna spend the rest of their lives in a cell with nothing more than a bed and a bog in it. no telly no visitors no privelidges etc. make prison a feared place to be sent to and not some holiday camp.

I would be in favour of the death penalty for multiple murders with DNA evidence being pretty reliable errors should be few. and you can make a mistake once not three or four times. and a good hanging is cheaper than years in jail

I agree there with fish, as bear states if prison was like prison and not a holiday camp i`m sure there would be less crime. Having worked in some borstals, yes worked, not been a guest! I have seen what luxury they stay in at times-convicted car thieves being given driving lessons and being trained as mechanics for example. I was expecting to be asked to train the burglars in lock picking at one point!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its a farce, they come out as better criminals than they went in as.

dna prooves nothing exept you were in a location or in physical contact with a person. it is merely circumstantial evidence. for instance. i could be in a room and leave dna traces there, a murder or other crime could be commited shortly after i left that location. my dna would be there even though i wasnt there at the time of the crime. similarly if i had physical contact with a murder victim and dna transfer took place ( as it does) my dna would be on them and vice versa, dosnt mean i commited the crime! DNA is a valuable tool for detecting possible suspects but it dosnt really PROOVE guilt! dna is being vaunted as undeniable evidence it isnt. hanging or otherwise executing people is not a good plan. the appeal process means that they will still be around ten to fifteen years after the crime was commited and sentance passed so you would think that that many failed appeals would mean that it would be "safe" to assume the guilty party could be executed. this is not true as there have been many examples of evidence suddenly surfacing that prooves innocence and yet it is too late. prison and imprisonment is the better bet. at least if evidence surfaces that prooves innocence the accused is around to be set free. (and sue for huge amounts of compensation too.) i dont believe in being soft on crooks, far from it i believe that if you are sent to jail you give up your extensive human rights and only have a few basic ones (food clothes bed etc) i dont think that allowing crooks to sue because they havnt got a telly or were forced to go cold turky is right. the only access to legal services should be to do with the reason you were sent to prison and not frivolous law suits. i do believe that long sentances should be handed down for reapeat criminals and serious assaults (rape, peadophiles etc). and i also believe that should you be sent to jail on more than 3 occaisions then you should remainther for the rest of your life. similarly a life sentance should mean life. and not some extended holiday where you get to take universaty degree's etc.

oh and its bloody outragous that bail wwas granted to the accused in this case as 1) they commited a brutal murder and 2) were carrying a gun! how the judge saw fit to grant bail in this instance is beyond belief. he should be sacked .

Yer not wrong there gixxer. Anyone seen the news yesterday about the car jacking in Cheadle, Manchester where a woman and her 8 year old son at 3.30pm in a busy main road garage were robbed of their car?? 3 'Very Hard' men dragged the lad from the car with a gun to his head. Poor little bugger. As if he doesnt have enough shit in his life suffering with Lukemia. I hope they string the b*stards up by their necks!
