A personal favourite of mine is the curried sausage toastie:

Slice cooked sausage and spread with tomato ketchup (Heinz naturally) to your taste. Sprinkle with Madras curry powder (Again adjust strength and quantity to suit) and toast. Be careful though, hot tomato ketchup has a COSHH sheet as long as your arm!

Or the most dangerous (and delicious) toastie known to man, the chilli and cheese.
Make a good thick chilli (runny ones don't work). Waterproof the bread with slices of cheese and add a good dollop of chilli, cover with more cheese (waterproofing again), seal the toastie and cook.

If you think hot pop tarts smart a bit.............

Try beating an egg, then add grated cheese (lots) and some mustard or curry powder......
For a sweet one, try banana and jam.......!

Kuchenhilfen, pardon the imposition but I have to ask, did the cheese and jam toastie arise from drunken experimentation (See other thread re chips and custard)?
