hace a bmw r1200cl...top end 103mph with a strong wind behind me and going down a hill.ridden to that speed regularily. bike before a blackbird. 155 once and 180 once on clear motorways but tootled around at 100mph regularily.

I have an 05 Kawasaki GPZ500S. I have been about 110mph max and I'm too scared to do anymore because I'm not that skilled that I can avoid a squirrel at that speed! (there are lots of squirrels where I live, they wedge under the hugger and make you fall off).
I might get more out of it on the dual stretch of the A46 near me but then again there are a lot of police type people so I probably won't. I'm more of a granny really, prefer a well-executed smooth and leany over ride ;-)

XBR500 at the moment. Does about 100mph but very rarely. I tend to just plod about on it up to about 70 or 80mph. Its good on the twisties though. It aint exactly a performance bike and I don't wanna break it, its my daily transport. I have a CB900 in the pipeline. Its orrible and old but ought to be pretty quick.

i gotta cbr600, had it up to 130mph on the south bypass and that was enough for me, top speed is about 145 according to partner. i usually sit at about between 80 - 100 as its just the right speed for my road to work.
i have been at 160 but that was on the back of m8s bike, god it felt good

right.... my gsx1100 is capable of about 140 in a straight line (try going round bends anywhere near that speed and yer off to casualty). my xj900 is capable of about 130 handles like a puppy on lino at that speed but is quite tame at about 80, great bike for long distance work. my gpz 500..... hmm well i have seen about 95 out of mine...hey its 17 years old and a bit tired, its quite stable and can shock bigger bikes through the twisties and its good on fuel too.... my XT 250 is a bag of ***FILTERED WORD*** e and wont do more than 55 ( with me on it anyway) handleing? wots that then?

I am seriously not capable of pushing my bike around corners!
And im not fool enought to even try on the public highway ...
(soz if that sounds borring but i'd like to live a few more years yet)
On the straight (ie dual carrageway - motorway) ...
ive been up to over 170 on quite a few occasions in 5th gear ...
But ill addmit ive not been over 180 yet in 6th.
No big deal, it'll get there and get back to summit sensible ... in no time at all.
My old ZZR600 did get to an indicated 150mph at a push ...
however its best high speed run i thought was this ...
Corley Services on the M6 ~ M1 ~ to South Mimms Services on the M25
Two up, my girlfriend on the back had large full rucksack as well just to add to the weight! (we'd been to the bike show you see)
Distance 89 miles ... time taken 45 mins average speed 118.66666 i believe
OMG well i though averaging that speed over that distance was worth a mention!
It was late evening before anyone says anything (between 9 & 10 pm) No traffic ...
hey i got 123mph outta an old CBX550 once :o) lol
hat ... coat ... s'ok can find the door myself :o)

personally i reckon anyone who reckons they can ride anything over a 600 to its limit on the road is full of ***FILTERED WORD*** .however fast you think you are a racer will make you look foolish.these people are in a world of their own.even back of the grid lads are bloody good.cant see the point in thous on the road.if you ride it to its top speed in a straight line you still aint riding it to its limits are ya?any monkey can do that.its the bands that are the fun bits.unless you got a vmax o course.lol.

That is why i made my initial statement ...
I wont even attemt to pretend im a race bike rider ... end of :o)
By the way ... i would even advise anyone oepening anything up in a straight line unless they are aware of quite how fast they are going to go ... and how far ahead they need to look ... but then im just an old fart who can be bothered about living so ignore me if youve got a death wish ... but ffs dont do it near me ok :o)

My mum owns a road legal Turbo Hayabusa with NOZ lol its road legal but only use it on track and down at santa pod its her show bike for her garage. Iv done 213mph down at pod I was shaking for 20 min after but does that count?
